Howdy,
Found this forum by way of a google search. Registered and hope to share what little I know and to pick the brains of those who do know.

Having written that, I've recently inherited a Windows based production instance, all my other instances are on Sun Solarus boxes. I know almost nothing about Oracle on Windows.

Couple of questions:

1. What environment variables are needed?
2. Oratab location?

Thanks
WolfBrother

>>2. Oratab location?
No oratab.
You can create an oracle service using ORADIM.EXE
and control it in control panel/services.
>>1. What environment variables are needed?
Same.
ORACLE_HOME,ORACLE_BASE,ORACLE_SID (for multiple instances).
Start with the Oracle on windows manual.
http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10501_01/win.920/a95490/toc.htm

Mahesh,
Thank you, what you sent me enabled me to refine my search-fu to get the information needed in the 10g part of the document lib.

Thanks,
