installation question for apps 11.0.3 [message #155481]

hi all,
Our system is apps 11.0.3 which runs on an 8i (8.1.7.4) instance. there is also 8.0.6 installed, I am not clear as to why this is. Can anyone out there please explain this to me.

the 8.0.6 home is the forms and reports home.
