hi,
The PC with the Oracle 8.1.7.0 installation was not booting up at all. We are able to salvage and backup the entire Oracle 8.1.7.0 installation and DBs and have this harddisk piggyback onto another PC.
I have not been able to find a copy of the Oracle 8.1.7.0 to install in this 'new PC'. Is there a workaround to 'register' an Oracle 8.1.7.0 installation on this 'new PC' using the backup Oracle 8.1.7.0 installation and DBs ? If I can, I thought I could get my DB going without the need to download an Oracle 8.1.7.0.
Any sugguestion and help is greatly appreciated.
