We are running AM4CICS and NET8 on MVS OS/390 v2.10 with no database locally on the mainframe. We are using NET8 to access Oracle databases on Sun Solaris boxes. When I recycle the NET8 starter task without stopping the connection to the CICS region, all of the connected regions abend with S0D6 abends and subsequently crash. If I stop the connection, recycle and restart it we are okay but I don't want the exposure of someone forgetting to detach first. We recently applied a patch to stop intermittant S0C4 CICS abends/crashes which seems to have worked. Any one else having the same problem?

Oracle's responce to this problem was to apply a patch that would upgrade us to 8.1.7.2. I did this and now we get 0C4 abends followed by the region crashing with 0C7 abends. Are all of their OS/390 products this worthless? I can't believe how bad the products and support are for the prices they charge. Thank God we haven't purchased this crap yet.

They can recreate this problem on their end and it will require an "extensive enhancement" to correct the problem.

They can recreate this and they say it will take an "extensive enhancement" to fix the problem - Bug 1973511
