While I have never installed Oracle 8.0 on a Windows server, I know from experience that there is a problem with installing Oracle 8i on a Pentium 4 with Windows. Please refer to Oracle's MetaLink (http://metalink.oracle.com) for more information. I believe Oracle Note 131299.1 has a workaround (renaming a DLL) and the problem is identified in Oracle BUG(s) 1507768 and 1518935.
