Experts,

I have a .dmp file created using Oracle 9.2.0.3 export utility.

Can I import that .dmp to an Oracle 8.17 DB using Oracle 8i import utility.  If so, are there any settings that I need to do ?

I tried using Oracle 8i import utility .... got the following error message

IMP-00010: NOT A VALID EXPORT FILE, FAILED HEADER VERIFICATION

Your suggestions appreciated.

TIA,

Shankar

Hi,

If you want to move oracle data from one oracle server to another so use exp/imp of lower version of oracle. In your case use exp/imp of 8x database then it will work properly.
