Problem in Import [message #73860]

I have taken a userwise export of my Oracle 8i(8.1.7) database. I want to import it in Oracle Personal edition 8 database. But whenever i try to import it, "IMP-00069 Could not convert to environment national character set's handle" error message occurs. Is it not possible to import database from Oracle 8i to Oracle PO 8. Please guide me..

do the export and import using the lower version of exp/imp tools.
so take export using oracle 8 PO and import to 8i using oracle 8po version of import.
if there is still the same issue, you need to set NLS_LANG accordingly.
