hi

my database is running Oracle 9i on Linux platform
when i go for start the database following messgae is coming.

user/oracle>export ORACLE_SID=HOGEN
user/oracle>sqlplus /nolog
SQL>connect /as sysdba
ERROR:
ORA-01041: internal error. hostdef extension doesn't exist

i also recreate the password file.
pls suggest me what to do?

check your ORACLE_SID and it is case-sensitive.
