Hi,
I'm in the process of migrating our 7.3.4 databases to 9.2.0. In the process it looks like I have to go from 7.3.4 -> 8.1.7 -> 9.2.0. The question is, When I do a full import of a 7.3.4 database into 8.1.7 or 8.1.7 into 9.2.0, Is there a possibility that the destination databases system objects or database specific configuration objects will get overwritten by the old version? Theoretically it should not be happening. Or does oracle automatically take of those things and does it make sure bad things like that doesn't happen? Because I'm always paranoid, when I see the import utility is trying to import the system objects (and of course failing most of the time, due to constraints, but still!!!!) also from the older database.
Should I be worried about this at all??
