Hello,

Our DBA's use the dbms_obfuscation_toolkit.MD5 to store our passwords in Oracle. We are trying to implement a web based authentication program that uses Tomcat's form based authentication method. We have built a JDBC realm and the appropriate corresponding tables in Oracle, however we can not seem to authenticate. in Tomcat we have configured for MD5 digest using Digest=MD5.

Does any one here know what is going wrong? When we turned off the encryption and used plain text everything was fine (well except a certain lack of security)meaning our Tomcat was set up correctly and able to talk to the appropriate tables. So we definately know the problem is coming from the MD5 digest.

Any help on this is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
