when I run the exp command , no tables are getting exported and the utility terminates, final message being

. about to export SYSTEM's tables via Conventional Path ...

No error messages or warnings are reported.

The user has EXP_FULL_DATABASE role assigned and CREATE SESSION privilege

Tried executing the command by giving the name of one single table. Ends in a similar way.

Since no error is reported, unable to find the cause for the problem.

There are no entries in the log file too.

Is the problem with oracle or the OS?

Any help will be appreciated in this direction.

Welcome to the forum.
Please read OraFAQ Forum Guide and How to use [code] tags and make your code easier to read.

Then copy and paste the complete export session including the command line.

In addition to Michel's request, the alert log might prove useful too.

Hi

your email is not clear to me

1.Does export command fails for all the modes

Full Database Mode, User Mode, Table Mode

2. Are you doing this in Unix environment Did you check do you permission to create file in the directory you are doing export or the write permission of the directory in which log file is created.

3. Did you check the space available using df -k just wondering if the filesystem is full. If you are doing export of large table the dump file created will occupy more space and it might fail to create due to space issue.

Please provide the exact command and the environment you are doing export like Unix/Windows

I doubt you will have any answer from OP.
It is just a waste of time to try (and fail) to envisage all possible errors when the log we asked will tell us the actual and OP refuse to post.
I think he is what we call a 'one-time poster", he comes, posts his question and never comes back.

Sir

Thank you for the response

Small suggestion Probably it's good idea to close the thread more than 6 months old

Tek Tips has a policy where they close the thread if it is more than 6months and it will be read only for the users and we will not be able to respond
