I m using dbms_obfuscation_toolkit.desgetkey to create a procedure in oracle9i.  I got problems while trying to use the same procedure in oracle8i. If i m not wrong, i think there is no desgetkey function in dbms_obfuscation_toolkit for oracle 8.1.7.  May i know if i can use the dbmsobtk.sql & prvtobtk.plb of oracle9i to overwrite the copies of oracle8i?

You can try, but don't tell Oracle Support as it may violate your support agreement.
